Artists: Vital Exposure & Networking Opportunities

Are you an artist working in Glasgow? Would you like the opportunity to sell your artwork?

NO NEED TO BOOK - JUST TURN UP ON THE DAY.

The cost of renting a space is £20 per day. Fees are payable on the day at midday. Setting up time is 10am and packing up time is circa 6pm.

Allocated space is approximately 3m wide - the space between two stanchions.

Work hung at the railings must be your own work.

You are expected to take responsibility for your own picture hanging, manning and removal. You should furnish yourself with string/cord/plastic covering etc. Canopies can be erected although you must not use anything which would damage the railings i.e. tape or wire. DO NOT USE ANY STICKY TAPE (PARTICULARLY NOT CARPET-TAPE) OR WIRE WHICH WOULD DAMAGE THE PAINT ON THE RAILINGS. Golf umbrellas are an option and can be strapped to the railings by you as a makeshift canopy.

On departure from the site please ensure your area is left litter free, all your belongings are removed and your section of the railings is absolutely clean - no bits of string. LEAVING A CLEAN SITE IS IMPERATIVE.

All work must be hung on the railings or as near as possible. Browsers are permissible and any tables brought for display purposes must be small - WE MUST NOT IMPEDE PEDESTRIAN FLOW.

It is important that you are aware that if the decision has been taken to cancel Art On The Railings and the co-ordinator is not present at the site it is absolutely NOT ALLOWED for anyone to set-up and trade. Anyone selling out with licensed market or on cancelled days is trading illegally and is therefore liable for a hefty fine. This action would seriously jeopardize both the current and most certainly the granting of any future license. If it is discovered that anyone has set up and traded on such occasions they will not be allowed to hire space in the future.

The validity of the current license and granting of any future license depends on the action and behaviour of participants. Please be aware of and comply with any requests made of you.

It should be noted that it is at the co-ordinator's discretion to disallow or request the removal of any items or persons.
